Periondotitis is an inflammation of periodontium. It is caused by bacteria that accumulate between tooth and gum tissue.
If the bacteria are not removed regularly gingivitis may occur.
80% of school children have gingivitis, i.e. gum tissue inflammation, which is also one of the most spread diseases of the modern mankind.

Its causes may be different, starting from the bad hygiene, bad habits (smoking, teeth grinding) up to organism malfunctions (diabetes, avitaminosis). The cause of gingivitis is the accumulation of a bacterial matrix at the gum line, called dental plaque, which are the remains of food stuck on the tooth surface.
The first symptoms of periodontitis are red and swelling gums that bleed easily. If left untreated, periodontitis causes progressive bone loss around teeth, looseness of the teeth and eventual tooth loss.

Our clinic offers prevention, treatment and surgery of first and advanced stages of gingivitis.
Periondotitis can be successfully treated with bone grafting surgery that enables the regeneration of periodontium and creation of the new bone that re-enforces the loosen tooth. |
